Lighting To Light Up Old Town – The Chamber, Old Town Merchants
Foundation, the City of Elk Grove and the Elk Grove Community Services
District are once again teaming up to light up Elk Grove to kickoff the

Ø Chamber’s Shop Elk Grove Program Provides New Business
For You - Chamber members can sign up now to be part of the Shop Elk
Grove contest designed to bring new customers into Elk Grove businesses
during the holiday season
Ø Chamber Sponsors Zoning Code Meeting – The Chamber
sponsored a business workshop on the City’s zoning code update process.
Content of the draft code was available for review and City staff
members were available to answer questions. More opportunities for
public input will be available on the redraft. More information is
available through the Chamber office or the City’s website, www.elkgrovecity.org.
Ø Chamber Members Hear About City’s Proposed Business
License Ordinance - City of Elk Grove Manager of Economic
Development Reid Montgomery outlines the City’s proposed Business
License Ordinance at its October members’ meeting. If you missed it,
the City will be holding public meetings to examine proposed changes.
The meetings will be held on separate dates to accommodate the busy
schedules of business owners and managers - the information presented
will be identical. Interested persons are encouraged to attend one of
the meetings:

Ø Chamber Contributes To Effort
To Rebuild Hurricane damaged Businesses–
The Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce has contributed $1,000 to an alliance
of business and industry support groups to aid its work in helping
businesses damaged or destroyed by recent hurricanes in the southern
states. Individual businesses are encouraged to assist through
financial donations or by adopting a business to help it with expertise,

Ø Bond Road Widening Workshop & Tour – The City of
Elk Grove has scheduled three more public opportunities to participate
in the Bond Road Widening project: A public workshop on November 2 to
provide input on the technical recommendations for the Bond Road
Widening project; a tour to determine the future of roadside trees on
November 5, and the City Council meeting on December 14 during which the
techni9cal recommendations will be presented.

Ø Sign Moratorium Deferred – A proposed moratorium on
the issuance of new sign permits has been deferred by the City Council.
The City’s sign ordinance is under review and revision in the City’s
