Leadership Elk Grove Launched by Chamber

Future Leaders Will Grow From Chamber’s New Leadership Elk Grove Program

The Chamber kicked off its new Leadership Elk Grove program at the August Members’ Meeting.  In announcing the inception of the program, Chamber President and CEO Janet Toppenberg noted that the program will provide participants with the tools to become effective leaders in the community, whether through volunteer positions or elected positions.

Important community and business issues, leadership skills and government agency processes will be the topics of the once a month, half day sessions.  Between October and April, participants will meet once a month for one-half day on site of a sponsoring business or the session host.  The morning sessions will be held on the second Thursday of each month and will begin at 7:30 a.m.  Individuals who live, work or do business in the Elk Grove area are eligible to apply.  Tuition for the program is $400 which includes meals and all course materials.

“The community’s volunteer and elected leadership directly influences the economic health of Elk Grove.  Leadership Elk Grove encourages participation in the development of sound public policy and leadership by preparing individuals to take an active role in the development of local that policy,” stated Toppenberg.
