Your India journey starts at EG
Chamber parking lot, where you’ll take a chartered bus to the
San Francisco International airport. Board your India flight.
Dinner (and additional meals) onboard aircraft.
Day 2 -
Tuesday, September

Delhi
Arrive in Delhi.
Traditional welcome at airport with garlands. Transfer to hotel.
Day 3 -
Wednesday,
September 10
DELHI
Sightseeing in Delhi. Bus to visit RAJGHAT,
the cremation ground of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the
nation, INDIA GATE (the war memorial), PARLIAMENT
BUILDING and the PRESIDENT’S HOUSE.
Day 4 - Thursday,
September 11
DELHI – JAIPUR
Visit at
BIRLA TEMPLE. Drive to Jaipur and check into hotel.
Evening enjoy a GEM-CUTTING & POLISHING demonstration as
Jaipur is one of the world’s most noted gem producers.
Day 5 -
Friday,
September 12
JAIPUR
Morning visit to
AMBAR PALACE of the Kuchchawa rulers. Enjoy a ride on
elephant-back like the Maharajas. Later experience the art
of CARPET WEAVING, BLOCK PRINTING & TURBAN wearing
demonstration, which plays a vital role in Rajasthani life.
Afternoon half-day tour of the PINK CITY with a visit to
the CITY PALACE MUSEUM, which contains the original
collection of the Maharajas of Jaipur, HAWA-MAHAL (photo
stop). |
Day 6 - Saturday,
September 13
JAIPUR – AGRA
Morning
drive to Agra, en-route visiting
FATEHPUR SIKRI - Old Deserted town of Mughal Dynasty.
Day 7 - Sunday,
September 14
AGRA
Enjoy a morning
half-day sightseeing tour of the massive AGRA FORT, which
was seat of Mughal rulers for decades. Visit ITMAD-UD-DULLAH,
a yellow marble tomb highlighted with black & white marble,
built for Noorjehan’s parents, the prettiest queen of Jehangir.
Later, enjoy MARBLE CRAFTSMANSHIP demonstration of inlay
work into marble of precious and semi-precious gems.
Day 8 -
Monday,
September 15
AGRA - DELHI
Sunrise visit to
THE TAJ MAHAL, India’s most fascinating masterpiece. This
magnificent tomb is a living symbol of the monumental passion of
Shahjehan for his queen Mumtaz. [Optional: Enjoy a
memorable TONGA ride (horse carriage) up to the legendary Taj
Mahal.
Evening
at leisure or attend a BUSINESS MEETING.
Day 9 -
Tuesday,
September 16
DELHI
Morning sightseeing
of New Delhi, where you will visit QUTUB MINAR, the
victory tower started by Qutub-Ud-Din in 1199 AD upon becoming
Sultan of Delhi. Marvel at the amazing Baha’i LOTUS TEMPLE,
a marble symbol of peace. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 10 - Wednesday,
September 17
DELHI/SAN FRANCISCO/ELK GROVE
Early morning transfer to the international airport to connect
flight for SFO.
Arriving
at same day.
Return to the Chamber parking lot by shuttle bus.
