Hospital
as 2007 Business of the Year
Methodist
Hospital
receives honors during the annual Leadership Recognition Banquet and
Installation of Officers and Directors on January 11.
The
Elk Grove Chamber Business of the Year award is made annually by the
Chamber to a member business that demonstrates leadership in its
business practices and in the community. “The hospital
leadership and staff have proven to be a benefit to the business
community and the community at large and this organization lives up
to all of the criteria set forth for this award,” stated Francisco
Rodriguez, outgoing Chamber Board Chair, in presenting the award. “
Methodist
Hospital
opened in 1973
as a culmination of a decade-long effort to expand health care
services for the then-rural community in the south part of town.
Methodist
Hospital
’s mission is to deliver high-quality, compassionate care and it
does this for everyone who walks through its doors.”
Now, more than three decades later,
Methodist
Hospital
has grown with the community, serving millions of people. And just
as Elk Grove has blossomed into a vital community, Methodist’s
health care resources have grown from the "little hospital
south of town," into a comprehensive medical campus with a
Family Birth Center, surgical services, diagnostic imaging services,
an Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Center including hand therapy,
rehabilitation services and a family practice residency program,
just to name a few.
Methodist
Hospital
is not only
committed to excellence in health care, but is dedicated to serving
the community. Methodist is a founding member of the
newly-formed Elk Grove Economic Development Corporation and was a
major sponsor of the Economic Development Forum held in November
during which the spotlight was on keeping the local economy healthy.
Methodist
Hospital
’s President, Tim Moran, has taken a particularly active, visible
and effective leadership role in Elk Grove and the south county
region, and is serving as the Board Chair for the Elk Grove EDC. Other
recent efforts include support for various community-wide events,
such as serving as the Presenting Sponsor for the Cosumnes River
College Foundation Gala, the Principal Sponsor of the Elk Grove
Rotary Club’s Beef ‘n Reef Bash, and partnering with various
organizations such as the Elk Grove Unified School District, Mothers
Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce,
to promote public safety awareness to our youth.
As Business of the Year,
Methodist
Hospital
will be recognized throughout the year by the Chamber.
