Elk Grove, CA – The City of Elk Grove unveiled a new web-based electronic plan submission, review and tracking system that  allows the city’s building permit customers to manage a plan review with the click of a mouse.

The City’s new E-Plan application allows customers to upload files and track the status of a project review anytime, anywhere, using an Internet connection.

The City’s electronic plan checking streamlines key development and regulatory processes, and offers an easy and more efficient building plan submittal that will be reviewed by the City’s building, planning and public works departments.  It also reduces turnaround time by distributing work to multiple departments simultaneously.

“The City of Elk Grove is committed to providing the highest level of customer service to the business community,” said Mayor Steven Detrick.  “We’re constantly seeking ways to make it easier to do business with City Hall at your convenience, 24-7.”

In addition, E-Plan supports the City’s green initiatives, reducing paper use by up to 80 percent compared to traditional paper plan reviews.  The new system eliminates the requirement for more building space to store paper plans, and reduces miles driven to City Hall for plan reviews.
